Monteverro, a passion becoming a job

Care of details and great love pushes the young Webers to create an excellence wine

Right above Tarquinia, ancient Etruscan city, at the border between the maremma of Lazio and Tuscany, is Capalbio the small Italian Athens. Right in this small city between the hills and the sea in 2003 Monteverro was born.

A wine cellar originated from the passion of the young Webers who literally fell in love with this amazing territory so much, that where now are the grapevines once were only a field of corn, olive tree groves and some vegetation which is still there. It is an uncontaminated territory and that is why the young Julia and Georg Weber respect so much their territory. In their grapevines, organized in every single detail, no pesticides are used but copper and sulfur. “Everything that is sprayed on the grapevines goes in the earth and the earth must not be impoverished because it makes our grapes grow.” Julia Weber and Silvia Marchetto, sales and marketing personnel, while bringing us to visit the grapevines, explain us that everything is made to take care of the grapes in an obsessive way. Every grapevine is worked with the hands and cleaned grape after grape by their staff.

he wine cellar Monteverro produces 600 barriques because they strongly believe that every bottle is a unique experience. They are not interested in the great distribution but take a careful look to the world of high cuisine and prestige winehouses. Everything is made scrupulously. This care for details was worth the eulogy of many restaurants in Northern Italy but especially Switzerland, where their wine is very requested.
